Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Rome

The Short Version

I am Chiara Bianchi, based in Rome, and over the past several years I’ve been chronicling my visits to gyms across Italy.

This site came about after growing weary of selecting gyms from adverts or vague tips and finding the real experience didn’t match. I wanted clear, truthful details about what these places were really like. When I couldn't find them, I chose to build them.

How This Started

My workout routine began at a small gym near Via del Fitness 12 in Rome. It wasn’t flawless, yet it was approachable and affordable, helping me stay consistent.

After that spot closed, I saw how fast the fitness scene in Italy was changing. New gyms opened, new ideas emerged, and marketing grew louder than the actual member experience.

I began trying various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Those notes eventually became this site, created to help others make better-informed decisions.

My Approach to Reviews

Every review here comes from actual visits and time spent inside the facility. I concentrate on practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Take enough time to understand routines, peak periods, and trends
  • Visit on various days and times
  • Experiment with different training styles and trainers
  • Regularly use the facilities to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with other members about what stays constant and what doesn't
  • Take notes right after each visit

I update reviews when major changes occur—renovations, management shifts, price changes, or new facilities. Each piece shows its last update date so you know how current it is.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, but here’s what I consider most important when assessing a gym:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully laid out for members, with clear boundaries and a relaxed vibe?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there sufficient variety? Are repairs prompt?

Crowd Control: Are you able to train during your chosen times without constant waiting?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness reflects how seriously management takes the member experience.

Transparent Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in Rome. This project aims to simplify fitness choices and make them more transparent for those seeking the right setting.
